Teen Tech Lab

Our Teen Tech Lab, established in 2011, serves 12-18 year olds in Tuscaloosa County by providing an informal, STEAM-based learning environment where teens can gain hands-on experience using cutting-edge technology. As they create, collaborate, and develop essential 21st century skills, teens are able to explore many concepts including 3D printing and design, basic robotics, audio/visual production, and maker technologies.

Our Goal

We strive to provide a safe, informal learning environment that not only supports the exploration and development of 21st century skills through access to technology, but also enables teens to envision the possibilities of how these skills and talents can translate into future STEM careers.

Education Outreach

We have been building a mobile version of our Teen Tech program that allows us to bring equipment and programs to our library branches, local schools, and community events. While we are still working to expand the program, our initial response from teachers and community partners has been positive and we believe our technology education outreach initiative is a critical step in reaching more teens in our community.

How You Can Help

Your donation has a significant, positive impact on our ability to provide access to quality STEM programming for teens in our community. Your contribution allows us to develop new workshops, supports the expansion of existing programs through the purchase of new equipment and materials, and provides opportunities for staff training. Thank you for your support.
